Job Role

We are looking for a PR Officer on a Fixed Term Contact for 10 months to join our Marketing team. 

The Role:

Your goal will be to cultivate a positive company image.

You will contribute to the delivery of the marketing and communications strategy that will help the CI Coop to deliver on its objectives. You will bring to life the vision, mission and values of the Coop through engaging and informative internal and external communications.

You will collaborate with different areas of the business including food retail, care and community, and maintain open communication with senior management.

As a PR Officer, you should be an organised and creative professional who is able to oversee PR activities and ensure effective communication with stakeholders, media and the public. If you have a creative mind and excellent communication skills, we’d like to meet you!

 

Main areas of responsibility

  1. Create and deliver innovative and engaging public relations and media campaigns.
  2. Write, edit, and review all media content and press releases.
  3. Be the first point of contact for enquiries from media and related organisations.
  4. Liaising with internal stakeholders on media responses, external communications and wider PR engagement plans and content, including major projects or operational developments in collaboration with key departments.
  5. Write and produce presentations, articles and social media content as required.
  6. Edit and update promotional material and publications.
  7. Measure and report on performance of all PR activity, tracking media coverage and preparing regular and timely PR coverage reports.
  8. Act as a brand guardian, ensuring that all communications support our brand, create a sense of belonging for stakeholders and highlight our unique points of difference.
  9. To assist with other duties within the marketing team as required.

Requirements and skills

  • Proven experience as a Public Relations Officer or similar PR role
  • Experience managing media relations (online, broadcast and print)
  • Background in researching and writing
  • Strong communication ability (oral and written)
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Creativity and problem-solving aptitude
